Philadelphia – Drexel seniors Emily Hoesch (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) and Kerry Kelly (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) each scored four goals and handed out three assists in the Dragons' 17-6 victory over La Salle in non-conference women's lacrosse action. With the victory, Drexel evened its record at 1-1 when La Salle dropped to 1-1.
The Dragons started strong as they scored the game's first four goals, including a pair from Kelly. The teams then traded goals three times until the score was 6-3. Nicole Iacono (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) scored her first goal of the season on a pass from Kimberly Kabernagel (Levittown, Pa./Conwell Egan) in transition to increase the Drexel lead to 7-3. The goal sparked a 4-0 Drexel run as Jessica Bill (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) scored two of her four goals as the half wore down to give Drexel a 10-3 edge heading into halftime. After the break, La Salle's Emily Boneczek scored her third of four goals for the Explorers. The Dragons responded with five straight goals, including two more from Bill, to put the game out of reach.
